“Blown Away” by Erin Sprague

Lifted by a gust
Of wind so strong
It seems to carry
Me on and on

Set adrift
In the prairie sky
Blown far
And high

Spinning and tumbling
Lungs can’t catch up
For the first time
I’m seeing everything closeup

New colors I see
That weren’t there before
New sounds
That in my ears roar

I’m blown away
As a tuft of dandelion
Caught in the breeze
From the sky fallen
